AGM Wealth distributes Alternative Investment Funds under AMFI ARN 124172, helping eligible investors access Category I, II and III strategies beyond conventional mutual funds.
An AIF is a SEBI-regulated, privately pooled investment vehicle that invests in asset classes outside the reach of a traditional mutual fund - private equity, structured credit, real assets, long-short equity strategies, and more. SEBI organises AIFs into three categories based on strategy and leverage:
Funds investing in start-ups, SMEs, infrastructure, and other sectors considered socially or economically desirable by the government or regulators.
Private equity and debt funds that don't fall under Category I or III, and don't use leverage other than for day-to-day operational needs.
Funds employing complex or diverse trading strategies, including listed derivatives, potentially using leverage - the closest to a traditional hedge fund structure.
AIFs are built for investors who've already established a diversified core portfolio and are looking for genuine diversification into strategies mutual fund regulations simply don't permit. The tradeoff is real: higher minimum investment (SEBI mandates ₹1 crore), longer lock-in periods, and materially less liquidity than a mutual fund or even PMS. AIFs aren't a "better" version of a mutual fund - they're a structurally different tool for a specific kind of investor.
As an AMFI-registered AIF distributor, we help you understand and access AIF strategies from SEBI-registered fund managers - explaining the category, mandate, fee structure, and lock-in terms of each option, and supporting onboarding and ongoing servicing. We're a distributor, not the fund manager - the investment decisions within the fund are made by the AIF's own manager, not by us.
Eligible, informed investors (SEBI minimum ₹1 crore) seeking exposure beyond conventional mutual funds, comfortable with product complexity, longer lock-in horizons, and limited liquidity.
Fund category and strategy, manager experience and track record, lock-in and exit terms, valuation methodology, fee structure, leverage used, portfolio concentration, and tax treatment.

AGM Wealth is a distributor, not a fund manager or investment adviser. Distribution registration is not an assurance of returns. AIFs carry higher risk, longer lock-in, and lower liquidity than mutual funds - evaluate suitability carefully before investing.
